Applications Due May 1, 2025
Thank you for your interest in the Nebraska One Box Pheasant Hunt! Participating in the One Box Pheasant Hunt is a unique hunting adventure and opportunity. Team applications are reviewed by a committee and selected for participation based on several criteria. It is not uncommon for the One Box to receive more team applications than slots available. In all cases, applications will be evaluated and consideration given to the following:
Continued participation in One Box events
Even after you have been on a competitive team and shot in the One Box Pheasant hunt, we would like you to return and participate as a past shooter, and you will also have opportunities to participate in other events that the One Box club puts on.
Auction Item
During the One Box Pheasant hunt, a charity auction is held to benefit the youth shooting sports program, the One Box Habitat program, the shooting club facility, and local scholarships. The teams donate many items such as new guns, original art, and guided hunting trips with a value of $1000 to $5000. We encourage your team to state on your application what you will be donating and the value of the item. The value is considered for acceptance by the application committee as it is imperative the charity auction is a success.
Video
The video below shows the event from the first day until the end and what you can expect when you come. This is an episode from Chasin the Dream filmed in 2022 at the 62nd Hunt. Enjoy and we look forward to seeing you here.
November is an unpredictable time of year in Nebraska. Be sure to pack both hot and cold weather clothing; a water-resistant jacket, shoes with good traction, long pants such as jeans, long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts. The hunting areas are open fields and usually have lots of long grass and some brush. Dressing accordingly is highly recommended.
When hunting with companions, it is imperative to be alert, so get plenty of rest on the night before the hunt. Always know the locations all of your teammates, guides and dogs before taking a shot.
There are many historic locations, museums, parks, recreational opportunities and shops located in Custer County. The citizens are friendly and the air is clear. It's a great chance whole family to unwind.
Over the years, the Ladies Nebraska One Box Board has assisted the men with the organization and promotion of the Nebraska One Box Pheasant Hunt.
